Tokyo in Cologne

It used to be Cologne's best sushi - but the owners have actually changed and it's just not good ... was really disappointed!

formerly the best shop in Cologne, recently poor quality at higher prices (possibly change of operator?) If you want better sushi, then buy from Rewe.

Nice service employee who was also funny. The sushi was good overall, only the rarely ordered Toro tasted strangely fishy. The prices are completely ok :)

Very tasty Shabu-Shabu and Sukiyaki, on request there is also the raw egg with the Sukiyaki, as it is part of in Japan.

The food is delicious everything was freshly prepared and you get your food warm. The portions are just perfect, not too much but not too little either. I had ordered take away, but the ambience in the restaurant looked really nice, which is why it is advisable to reserve a table. You get a card with which you get a 5 euro discount on the order when you visit 6 or 7 times. I was very satisfied and will order again there :)

Finally eat authentic Japanese in Cologne! Even if there is certainly just as good sushi in other shops, starters, desserts, bentos etc. make the shop a must for every lover of Japanese cuisine. The owner is extremely friendly, the food fresh and far from Fusionkitchen and Instagramspot. Don't be put off by the interior and exterior facade;)

Unfortunately we were forgotten for the second time today, had ordered online for 50 euros, called after 2 hours to find out that the order had been overlooked. Pity! We won't give you a third chance.

"Yummy Yummy Yummy". The boss of the house was absolutely delighted with every order. Ordering a Coke was something special. The food was okay. Everything classic. Would love to come back. Unfortunately, you can see from the restaurant that it is getting old.

The food was really great! The boss was extremely funny, was very entertaining: D I can recommend it to everyone if they want to eat Japanese. The fish was fresh, the sushi was delicious, and so was the beef. I will definitely come back on my next visit to Cologne! Thank you and see you next time!

The food were tasty and the staff or the owner is very energetic and funny. Like the vibe of the restaurant. My favorite dish was the mango rolls. Light and fresh. The fried pork chop was not as thick as I expected. Usually Japanese pork chops are thicker and juicier. Besides, it’s a bit weird for me that the rice with the pork chops was sour. Overall, it’s a nice restaurant that is worth to go.

The sushi was very very good. The staff was very friendly and prompt. We will definitely return to eat here the next time we are in Koln.

Too slow service and forgot the meal. Another table got Sushi first. We waited for 1.5 hoir and got 1 food.

Once you've made it through the menu, the sushi is really excellent. Fresh and tasty. The service was okay. Very upscale and sometimes a bit inattentive but overall sympathetic.

Best Sushi in Cologne

I really do like the Tokyo. The food is fresh, tasty and the service is very good. It is a classic fine Japanese restaurant.

Really good sushi place in downtown Cologne. We went for lunch and each got a bento box. The food was really good and was almost too much to eat. They have a lunch menu with good prices. I would definitely go back. The service was quick but the place isn't very big, so I would try to go at an off time or early, before they get busy.

The price is a bit (just a bit) high, but also the quality is good. Took one star out, because the quality of the food sometimes are non consistent.

Fish was generally fresh (including the saba which was not overly marinated). The only exception was the yellowtail that tasted like it might have been marinated rather than fresh? The rice was too thick and sticky like super market sushi, not the light, individual grains that sushi rice is supposed to be. All in all a good but not great experience.

Very fresh sushi. Excellent service. Their plum wine could be better. Also some specialty sushi like the octopus could be improved. Overall a very good sushi option.
